FAQ's Botox

Is it painful?

The injections are carried out with a very fine needle, only slightly wider than a human hair.

Injection discomfort can also depend on technique. The combination of the fine needle and excellent technique means that Mr Reuser's patients feel little or no pain at all.

How long will the effects last?

Generally speaking the effects last from 3-5 months although in some people this can be in the region of 8 months.

The reasons for the variation is due to individual muscle reaction, the number of times the muscle has been treated with Botox and the reason for the treatment. Botox is widely used for preventing wrinkles but can also be used for inturning eyelids, dry eyes, watery eyes, facial palsy etc.The duration of the effect in these conditions again varies considerably.

What areas can be treated?

The most requested areas are the frown lines between the eyebrows, though crow's feet and forehead wrinkles are also popular to have treated. Eyebrow lifts can also be obtained with subtle injection techniques in particular areas around the eyebrows. This means that in some patients a surgical eyebrow lift can be avoided. Are there any side effects?

Immediately following the treatment we occasionally see a little swelling or occasional bruising at the injection sites. These generally settle quickly and most people notice nothing at all other than a little redness which quickly passes. Other effects depend very much on the area treated, but can include droopy eyelids, and even double vision.

Needless to say, an eye plastic surgeon will know exactly where and how much to inject, and how to reduce the risk of experiencing such problems.

How much will it cost?

This depends on the number of areas being treated and the number of visits required. We believe we offer competitive pricing with the additional benefit that ALL procedures are carried out by an experienced eye plastics surgeon. For further details call 0121 711 2020
