Mark Benson received his medical education at Birmingham University, after which he trained at Birmingham & Sheffield undertaking specialist (fellowship) training in vitreo-retinal surgery at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital.

Mark Benson is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Birmingham Heartlands and Solihull NHS Trust as well as Birmingham & Midland Eye Centre & The Midland Eye Institute.
