Wavefront Technology

Wavefront technology, an option available with PRK, LASEK and LASIK at The Midland Eye, allows a refractive surgeon to generate an extremely accurate map of a patient's eye. This specially generated map helps identify the unique aberrations (imperfections) that effect an individual patient's vision. The information from this Wavefront map is electronically transferred to a computer that precisely controls the laser during surgery.

We use the latest in Wavefront technology at The Midland Eye Institute: the Nidek EC 5000 CXIII excimer laser using the OPD scanner and Final Fit Software to create the perfect profile. The scanner can accurately measure imperfections within the eye (lens) on the surface of the eye (cornea) as well as cross sectional and pupil measurements to attain the best possible results.
